- Shuttle-UM, UMCP's
transit system, is operated by University students and offers a variety of
transportation services for all University students, faculty, and staff.
Commuter service operates 5 days a week during the Fall and Spring semesters
when classes are in session. Buses travel between campus and nearby
neighborhoods, apartment complexes, shopping centers, and Metrorail, Amtrak,
and MARC train stations. Only a valid University ID is needed to board a
Shuttle bus. Exceptions are made for the "
College Park Metro" and
"Park and Ride"
routes. University guests are welcome on these routes without identification.
- Paratransit service is available on campus 5 days a week for people
with temporary or permanent disabilities. Security service operates on
campus 7 nights a week when classes are in session (including summer semesters). Shuttle buses are
available for charter as well. Charter buses travel anywhere in Washington,
D.C., most of Maryland, and parts of Northern Virginia. For more
