Failure to cancel registration will result in financial obligation to the University even though the student does not attend class.

To cancel registration prior to the first day of classes

1. Your cancellation request must be received in writing by:
   Office of the Registrar
   First Floor Mitchell Building
   University of Maryland
   College Park, Maryland 20742
   - or - FAX to 301-314-9568

   Since the University can honor only those requests for cancellation which are actually received by the deadline (prior to the first day of classes), requests should be sent by Registered Mail. Please include the student's identification number (typically social security number) on all correspondence.

2. For additional information concerning cancellation, call the Registrar's Office at 314-8240.
3. Cancellation of Housing and Dining Services is a separate process.
