You may be prevented from registering for classes for various reasons.
An explanation of these registration restrictions and how they can be
resolved is listed below:
- Financially Ineligible: An outstanding student financial balance
exists. Contact the Financial Service Center at 301-314-9000 or
email billtalk@umd.edu
- Must Choose Degree Major: Student must change their major before
making any schedule adjustments. Contact the College of Letters and Sciences
at 301-314-8418 for more information.
- Mandatory Advising: Student must meet with their Departmental
Advisor before registering. In some cases college advising may also be required.
This will be displayed next to Mandatory Advising restriction.
- Administratively Ineligible: Contact the Office of the Registrar
at 301-314-8240 or email registrar-help@umd.edu
- Academic Probation: Students on academic probation must meet
with their Academic College advisor before processing any registration
transactions.
- Academic Dismissal: Students on academic dismissal status following a
successful reinstatement must meet with their Academic College advisor before
processing any registration transactions.
- Academically Ineligible: Contact the Office of the Registrar
at 301-314-8240 or email registrar-help@umd.edu
- Judicially Ineligible: Students must contact Office of Student Conduct
at 301-314-8204.
- Student Athlete: Student must contact their Academic College advisor.
Due to NCAA certification, athletes must meet with their Academic College advisor
before processing any registration transactions.
- Immunization/Vaccination Block: Documented proof of immunization has
not been filed with the University Health Center. All students are required
to submit proof of immunization prior to enrollment. Proof is required for
measles, mumps, rubella, and tetanus/diphtheria. Additionally, students
living on campus must be vaccinated against bacterial meningitis. Student
must contact the Health Center at 301-314-8180
- Fundamental Studies.
English: Approved Introduction to Writing course
has not been completed within the appropriate time period required under the CORE
Liberal Arts and Sciences Studies program. Students are required to register for
ENGL 101 and must process all registration transactions at the Office of the
Registrar, First Floor Mitchell Building.
Math: Approved CORE fundamental studies mathematics course has not been completed
within the appropriate time period. Student must register for MATH 110, MATH 113,
or MATH 115 and must process all registration transactions at the Office of the
Registrar, first floor, Mitchell Bldg.
- Students who have made too many Drop/Adds: You have exceeded the
maximum number of registration transactions. Students must contact the Office of the Registrar
at 301-314-8240.
