The University of Maryland adheres to a policy of compliance with
the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (Buckley Amendment). It
is the policy of the University to limit disclosure of personally
identifiable information from educational records without the student’s
prior consent.
Students can grant parents and/or legal guardians limited access to
student information by selecting the "Parent Access (grant/remove)"
option below. This request must be renewed annually. This information
includes:
- current course schedule
- mid-semester and final grades
- student account balance information
Once permission is granted by the student, information is available on Testudo (Student Services on the web at www.testudo.umd.edu).
Parents use the student’s Directory ID (email name, ex. test@umd.edu, the Directory ID would be test) and a Parent PIN which is set by the
student when parent permission is granted.
